early morning elopement in st. petersburg, florida
September does not mean anything to the Florida weather. It was early, like 8 AM early, and the weather was just thick with love. I was lucky enough that Daerra reached out through Instagram and wanted me to capture her and Matt's elopement in St. Petersburg at one of their favorite parks. It was calm and quiet as these two met to do a first look (which I always recommend!) where you could just see how happy Matt was to lay eyes on his soon-to-be wife. I left them have some space for Matt and Daerra to just take in the moments before the ceremony. It was Daerra, Matt, their friend, officient, and me, who got to see these two love birds commit to a life together. It was gorgeous. I shed a tear. After the ceremony, we stuck around to take portraits.
The park was amazing, it had all the standards of a St. Petersburg park, palm trees, big bushes, green grass. We explored and took photos whereever the light led us. We took some in the middle of the road that runs through the park, which got the drivers stopping to say congratulations to the happy couple. I brought my stool with me and we took bridal portraits in the open field. At the end, these two were awesome enough to jump in the water with me to get those last shots.
I am very happy that Daerra reached out and got me to capture their memories.
